Effective October 1, 2015, Avesta Housing has a new application process.  Those interested in applying for housing need to complete a Housing Eligibility Questionnaire. Based on the information provided, applicants will be sent a list of communities for which their household is eligible.  After selecting the communities they want to apply for, the applicants return this to Avesta Housing in order to be placed on the waitlist(s).

Avesta Housing manages nearly 80 subsidized and non-subsidized properties.  Each property has a separate waitlist for each bedroom size.  With nearly 2,500 households on the waitlists, some lists are very long, resulting in waiting periods far in excess of one year.  For this reason, Avesta Housing closes some of these waitlists. All properties with handicapped-accessible units will continue to accept applications from applicants needing handicapped-accessible features.

Walk-In Applicants

Avesta accepts walk-in applicants on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, applicants must make an appointment. This allows us to provide better customer service by reducing wait times and giving us more time to answer applicants' questions about the application process. Please call 553-7777 to make an appointment with an Intake Specialist.
