Current Vacancies

Most of the properties managed by Avesta Housing have waitlists. Occasionally, there are apartments available for immediate occupancy. These are listed on our Current Vacancy Report.

We do not provide emergency, short-term or transitional housing. For more information regarding a listed apartment, please contact the person listed.

If you are interested in an available apartment, you will be required to complete a full application and supply copies of Social Security cards for all household members. If you have lost your Social Security card, you will need to contact your local Social Security office or visit the Social Security website for instructions on how to obtain a replacement card.

All applicants are subject to a background check on the following:

  • Credit Reports must support the household's ability to pay rent and show evidence of a positive rent payment history. Items of concern are collection accounts for utilities, excessive outstanding balances, money owed to landlords  and evictions.
  • Landlord References are required in order to establish evidence of a positive resident history, incuding rent payment history and lease compliance. Professional references may be accepted if there is evidence of a gap in landlord history.
  • Criminal History Background Checks will be run.
    • Any applicant who has been convicted of a felony in the last 10 years and/or has violent criminal or drug-related activity in the past five years, or a pattern of violent criminal or drug-related activity over an extended period, will be rejected.
    • Any applicant on the Sexual Offender Registration list will be rejected.

Please note when screening an applicant for sufficient income, we are unable to accept General Assistance as a source of income to determine if you meet the requirements for an apartment.

We do not provide Section 8 vouchers; however, we accept rental assistance vouchers from most support programs.
