Avesta Housing has joined with more than 60 organizations across in the state in supporting LD 774, which proposes two $30 million bond issues over the coming two years to create energy efficient, affordable housing for Maine people.

LD 774 was proposed by the Maine Affordable Housing Coalition (MAHC) and is sponsored by Senate President Elizabeth Mitchell. A recent analysis of the bill by Dr. Charles Colgan found that it would result in the creation or maintenance of 5,800 jobs in Maine each year during the coming biennium.
