January 11, 2006 - Avesta Housing was recently awarded funding for three new developments through Maine State Housing Authority's 2006 Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program. Waldoboro Woods Apartments, an existing 12-unit Rural Development senior housing project in Waldoboro, will have renovations done and remain affordable for the next 90 years. Brick Hill Heights is the third and final phase of affordable housing to be developed on the former Maine Youth Center campus in South Portland, providing 30 units of workforce housing in an elevator-serviced building at the center of the site. Pearl Place Phase Two will build 30 new one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments in the Bayside neighborhood of Portland just three blocks from Avesta Housing's office. All three projects are expected to be occupied by 2007.
