100 Unites of Housing Proposed for Bayside in Portland

Avesta recently purchased 1.66 acres on Pearl Street, and plans to build the first phase in rental housing into two Townhouses.

Avesta Housing is planning to develop up to 100 units of housing in the Bayside neighborhood over the next few years. Avesta recently purchased 1.66 acres at the site of the former F.W. Webb Plumbing Supply warehouse at 210 Pearl Street that is bordered by Oxford, Lancaster and Pearl Streets and is adjacent to the Chestnut Street parking garage. Avesta Housing plans to build the first phase of rental housing in two Townhouses along Oxford Street and include 30 units of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with porches and some units with washer/dryers and dishwashers. Some first floor apartments will have patios and garden space. There is a large green space planned for subsequent phases. Future phases include market rate condominiums and more affordable rental housing in two mid-rise towers with great views of Munjoy Hill and Back Cove as well as other townhouses.
