About the Project
The fourth phase of construction at Meeting Place Commons, Three Meeting Place created 43 units of much-needed workforce housing in Exeter, NH. The building has a mix of studio, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedroom units for individuals and families. The scope of construction included improvements to Exeter’s abutting trail system, as well as construction of a basketball court and picnic shelter for use by all residents at the campus.
The community fills a significant need for affordable housing in Exeter. A 2008 market study commissioned for “The Meeting Place” development noted that the area has limited available rental housing, particularly in the area of family assisted units. In addition, Three Meeting Place will provide residents with Avesta’s service-enriched housing through the assignment of a Resident Service Coordinator.
Service-enhanced housing involves integrating the community’s social service network into the building’s ongoing operation and management. These services can improve the quality of life of residents by working with residents on the skills to become and maintain their self-sufficiency.
