Avesta Housing has received a $400,000 grant from the KeyBank Foundation to enhance services for residents of the nonprofit developer’s affordable housing properties.
The funds, to be awarded over four years, will be used to expand staffing and ensure residents have access to health care, meals, and educational and employment opportunities such as job training, professional certification classes and English language learning initiatives.
Avesta, headquartered in Portland, says that steps to improve economic well-being will help create a future for individuals and families who have experienced homelessness.
