The Affordable Housing Crisis
Affordable rental homes continue to be in short supply, and renters face high and ever-rising costs.
There is no state or county in the U.S. where a renter working full-time at minimum wage can afford a two-bedroom apartment. Housing availability has shrunk to record lows while rental costs have increased dramatically. The magnitude of the affordable housing crisis we are currently facing calls for bold and innovative solutions. Avesta Housing is working to meet that challenge.
Tackling the Challenge
Prioritizing an increased supply of affordable rental housing is one of the most impactful ways we can shape the long-term health of our communities.
- We work collaboratively with local and state officials to advocate for greater housing supply.
- Our Real Estate Development team works to keep our affordable housing pipeline full.
- Our Property Management & Resident Services team provides facilities management and resident support to nearly 5,000 residents living in more than 3,000 apartments.
- Avesta provides safe, clean, affordable homes for older adults, working families, recent immigrants, formerly unhoused individuals and families, and others in need.
