Shelby chose to live in an Avesta home for several reasons, “I knew Avesta had connections to resources, I wanted to be downtown, and I knew that Portland schools would be good for my son.”

Since moving into their new place, Shelby has started a new job, purchased a car, and enrolled in college courses. She says that moving into her Avesta home has also been good for her mental health. “I have peace of mind. It’s comforting.”
